A carpenter by trade since 1979, Johnny progressed through all elements of the construction industry: carpentry, site supervision and site completions. He was a carpentry contractor from 1990 to 2000, employing 40 carpenters on a variety of contracts in the Waterford, Tipperary and Kilkenny areas. Establishing MTS as a timber frame and roof truss provider in March 2001, Johnny has been responsible for the growth and development of MTS since its inception.
David has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry and has headed up our design office since our inception in 2001. In his time in this roll David has built an extensive knowledge of the timber frame industry and prefabricated roof truss design.
David started his career in the building industry in 1994. After leaving school he started serving his apprenticeship as a carpenter with Johnny Kiely Carpentry Ltd which culminated in the winning of the National Skills Competition for carpentry in 1998.
In 2001 David moved from site to the office focusing on the design. His background knowledge and experiences coming together with state of the art design software has helped MTS to develop their brand as one of the leading timber frame manufactures in Ireland.
In the last 18 years David has dealt with every type of building and roof, from small one off roofs to the development of hundreds of scheme houses, dealing with private customers and some of the largest builders in the country.

Anthony Browne BSC
Although a relative newcomer to the Timber Frame Industry having only joined MTS as a Designer/Estimator in December 2017 Anthony has over thirty years experience in the construction industry. His career began at Morris Builders Providers in September 1983 rising to the position of Retail Manager before moving to Heiton Buckley as Shop Manager in March 2000. A victim of the construction industry downturn in 2009, he turned to education to upskill and develop his talents. He participated in several courses most notably the Viking Longboat Project where he showed great enthusiasm and passion for carpentry and boat building techniques. The result of which is the replica Viking Longboat that is on permanent display outside Reginald’s Tower in Waterford City.
In 2013 whilst working for Waterford City Council Anthony accepted the opportunity to further his education by participating in a one year Level 7 Applied Conservation Skills Course at Waterford Institute of Technology. He graduated with a distinction in June 2014. Realising the benefits of 3rd level education he decided to continue his college studies at WIT for another three years by enrolling in the Construction Management & Engineering Course. It turned out to be a wise decision as he graduated in June 2017 with 1st Class Honours.
